My sister Leighann and her husband Traver just moved into a new home in Knoxville. She is still in the decorating stage, and I have been incessantly asking her to send me pictures via her blackberry as often as possible. Their house is totally new, so Leighann really wanted to find ways to give the place some character. Leighann loves art, and she commisioned Knoxville based artist Robin Surber to do a painting on her venta-hood. To the left is the final product (I'm sorry the color of the photo isn't better, but its a picture from a text message). Anyhow, I think the work turned out so well and the best part is that the piece is removable and can be taken with her to her next home. What a fabulous way to individualize her kitchen!
